Synopsis:
     The trajectory of Liesel Meminger is told by a surprisingly sympathetic narrator morbid. Realizing that the little thief eludes him books, a fondness Death to the girl and traces his footsteps from 1939 to 1943 Traces of a survivor: a communist mother persecuted by the Nazis, sends Liesel and her brother to the suburbs of a German city where a couple is willing to adopt them for money. The boy died on the way and is buried by a digger dropping a book in the snow. It is the first in a series that the girl will filch over the years. The only link to family is this work, she still can not read.
     Haunted by nightmares, she compensates the fear and loneliness of nights with the connivance of adoptive, a painter of wall that gives you debonair reading lessons father. Literate condoned under stepmother, Liesel emergency channels for literature.
     Death, perplexed human violence, gives a light and fun to the narrative of this difficult confrontation between the lost childhood and the cruelty of the adult world, an absolute success tone.
